Orchestral Lights – Domaine de Chevalier- Fypart – Nicolas Husson Conseils
Domaine de Chevalier commissioned FYPART to create a light and sound art installation, to celebrate the 40th harvest of Mr Olivier Bernard, who has been running the domaine with his familly for 40 years.
Nicolas Husson, architect and designer, designed the experience. The display of the 40 pedestals on wich the double magnums are lighted puts a special emphasis on the 1983 and 2022 millesims. Playing the emblematic song « C’est si bon » by Louis Armstrong, the installation lighten up the 40 bottles in rythm with the music, creating an orchestral light and sound piece.
I’ve built a custom 3D virtual previsualisation tool to build the animation and to get the sense of space of the physical installation. I programmed a full autonomous installation driving the lights behavior, sending dmx to each bottle’s light. the system i designed made it possible to review the animations with the FYPART team before being on site, providing a real advantage in designing the experience.
Everything has been programmed in Touchdesigner
